This week Jessica and Jill have opted out of a topic and are leaving the choice up to us. They are sharing their goals for the 2015 link up.

I am choosing to write about a topic that I find special, and to make it even better Jessica Joy actually wrote on the same topic Sunday night!!! Great minds ….

NEW YEAR’S THEMES

(No I don’t mean party options lol)

A couple years back as part of the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge Amanda from Run to the Finish introduced me to the concept of choosing just ONE word as a theme for that year. She got this incredible idea from Ali Edwards‘ who uses her word to inspire her art. The idea is that you will think long and hard and choose a word that will represent you going forward. That word will inspire you and help shape your word. It is often something that you need to focus on in your life.

I wish I could remember my word, from that year, I was never very good at chronicling things like that. I am pretty certain it would have been about connecting with my family, as that is something I felt I struggled with back then.

If I had to sum last year up in one word it would be:

realize

Last year I realized a lot of my dreams…. I ran the Disney Half Marathon. I trained and completed my first triathlon, I started a fitness based business. I feel very happy moving forward to 2015.

My word for 2015 ….

challenge

I plan on seriously CHALLENGING myself in 2015. I have HUGE goals!!!!  (you can read some of them here) I will not settle in 2015 for mediocre or average or everyday. I plan on CHALLENGING myself throughout the year in many areas of my life. It also seems fitting as I am starting my very own challenge groups on Facebook through Beachbody, you can join one if you like!

I have never been one to conform, and for me choosing just one word isn’t enough, in fact I had a phrase chosen instead of a word. AND THEN, Jessica Joy in all her wisdom, challenged me. She challenged me to not only choose a word but an entire PHRASE! A Statement! So I did…

My STATEMENT for 2015 ….

push the limits

I will need to PUSH LIMITS in order to succeed this year. I will not be able to complete my goals if I don’t fight hard to get where I want to be. I will not back down and I will not be afraid! I WILL PUSH LIMITS and CHALLENGE myself!

My daily task today for my TrihardMama Beachbody Challengers is for them to choose their word or phrase or theme for 2015!!!

Do you have a theme for 2015? Is it a word? or a Phrase?

I would love to have you share them with me!!

  1. Love your word!! Challenge is a strong one!

My phrase for 2015 is Numbers don’t make memories…People do! It’s a reminder to live in the moment! My mantra for my running is Keep on this path! It keeps me focused on my journey and my path, not someone else’s. My word is still the same from this year…steps! Steps toward something, away from something, up, etc.

  2. What a great idea. Picking one word as the theme for the year. I like ‘realize’ as much as challenge and it sounds like you had ‘realized’ your potential last year. Happy New Year and here’s to new ‘challenges’ in 2015!

  3. Hi Jennifer! Wow, I love this idea. I must say that choosing a word or sentence is actually a really good way to stay focused, because it makes you think about whether a goal actually fits into your overarching plans or not. You’ve got me thinking about mine, and I need more time. Great post! 🙂 Happy Tuesday and best of luck in 2015! I look forward to following your adventures.

  4. Challenging yourself while pushing your limits…perfect! I did enjoy really thinking about a word and a slogan. My word is OPEN to new things. My slogan is about getting more out of myself each day to better live life to the fullest. You will have a rockin’ 2015!!

  5. I love both your word and your statement! Great picks! 😛 I only have a word picked out thus far for 2015, but it’s “persevere!” :] (It was weirdly difficult being limited to just one word!)

  6. Love your word for 2015! I think I’ve decided on my word but I won’t share until I’m positive that it’s the right word. There’s a feeling you get when it’s right! KWIM
